On Friday February 3, 2017, Edmonton Metro residents are invited to join the Edmonton Food Council for Let’s Talk Food, a Mayors’ panel discussion at Edmonton City Hall! On the agenda: regionalism, growth, preserving agricultural land, and food systems. Panelists are:
- Mayor Don Iveson, City of Edmonton
- Mayor Lisa Holmes, Town of Morinville
- Mayor Tom Flynn, Sturgeon County
Hosted by the Edmonton Food Council and the City of Edmonton, with partners FLedGE and Alberta Food Matters on Friday February 3, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 p.m., the panel discussion will be accompanied by a reception with finger-foods, beverages, booths and mingling.

Tweet your questions for the Mayors with the hashtags #askEFC #Cultivate 2017! Some examples include: How can our region thrive as a prosperous, growing place, with resilient local and regional food systems? How do we preserve land for agriculture and food systems as our region grows and changes? How can we better “cultivate connections” between our communities?
As part of the celebration, the Edmonton Food Council has paired five local chefs with five local food producers. Taste Alberta is sponsoring ingredients for the chefs, who will present dishes using those local ingredients. Samples from local breweries will also be available for participants to try.
